4) Liverpool Pigeon

Who cares about pigeons, hey? They’re the rats of the air etc. Well, this was a pretty spectacular pigeon and she comes with a slice of mystery. The only known specimen of the Liverpool pigeon is kept in the Merseyside County Museum and no one knows where it came from.
Some speculate that the bird originated in Haiti but no Liverpool pigeon individuals have been found since, so it was declared extinct in 2008.
