9) Black-Faced Honeycreeper

The black-faced honeycreeper, or poÊ»o-uli, is another of Hawaii’s lost bird species. Three individuals were discovered in 1998: one died in captivity in 2004 and the other two haven’t been seen since.

That’s either very, very sad or very, very careless. Probably both.
