Arsenal – Why It’s Impossible to Like Them

Robin Van Persie

This is a tough one because every football fan in the world would happily forgive him for being a dick if he signed for their team. However, the long and short of it is, he is a dick. When he first came into the Arsenal side as a youngster he was a dick, he was arrogant and had a tendency to lash out at opponents for no real reason.

His goal-scoring form in the last couple of years has been top notch but unfortunately this has shielded him from criticism. Why would anybody want to point out his lack of class when he is scoring goals regularly? I couldn’t give a shit whether he has spent so much of his career on the sidelines injured, he needs to learn a little humility.

His gloating at Tim Krul after Arsenal’s winner last night is testament to how he is as a person. He should have just celebrated with his team but he felt he had to make a point to the Newcastle goalkeeper. There isn’t an ounce of sportsmanship in him. This is the Arsenal captain, the man who should be setting an example on the field, acting like a petulant child.

Don’t be fooled Arsenal, he isn’t doing anything for you, he is doing everything for himself. He wants the attention, he wants the glory and as soon as Real Madrid or Man City come in and offer him a massive pay packet, we’ll see how loyal he is to you. Also enough of this, ‘he scores when he wants’ bollocks. If that was the case, you should be questioning his ambition. If I could score when I wanted, you better believe I’d have scored more than 28 in 28. I’d have scored 1,000,000 in 28. I said one million because I didn’t want to get too cocky.
