5. Rotten Rice Noodles
Rice noodles, another staple being attacked by the counterfeit craze. Instead of throwing away rotten rice grain, some distributors have been using it in an effort to lower waste costs to produce more noodles. There have also been reports of sweet potato noodles being found with wax and industrial printer ink (to achieve the purple hue of the potato skin). Mmm.
