4) Giant Sea Eagle Heading For Blackpool

This week has also seen the escape of a Steller’s sea eagle called Nikita. For those of you that don’t know much about birds, first of all — shame on you — but Steller’s sea eagles are the heaviest eagles in the world with an 8ft wingspan. They’re more than capable of stealing a domestic dog and ripping them to bits at their own leisure.

North Yorkshire police were on hand with pearls of wisdom and Tweeted that the proud beast is “not dangerous to people but don’t try picking it up”. Don’t try picking it up? Go on I dare you.
