The Ring Drop

This one actually happened to me in Paris very recently. Now, far be it from me to pass judgement on certain people, but usually you can tell the kind of person who looks like they’re trying to scam you with their dirty clothes and narrowed gaze toward your pockets. The ring drop is when a man or woman drops a ring in front or near you (without you seeing) and asks if it is yours. They will more than likely be speaking a language you cannot understand so another good Samaritan will come up and try to explain, all the while both will be patting you down inconspicuously trying to nick everything you have on you. Again, the easiest way to avoid this is a polite ‘no’ and walk away, however the phrase ‘fuck off’ is one recognised universally so whatever seems more appropriate to you.
