American Skydiver Completely Obliterates Himself Flying Into Parade For July 4 Celebrations

In what some may call the perfect metaphor for America right now, a flag-waving skydiver crash-landed at Folsom Pro Rodeo in California during July 4 celebrations this weekend.

It looks like his flag got tangled in a tree and sent him crashing into a tent on top of a bunch of people:

Oof. And that is why you probably don’t want anything trailing before landing in an area that’s dense with trees. Then again – ‘Murica! Rules are for libs!

The good news is that the skydiver, Ross Vail, was unharmed and so was everyone else on the ground. He only suffered a cut lip, and apparently received a standing ovation as he got back to his feet. Good thing the tent broke his fall otherwise this could have ended very badly indeed.
