I’ve never owned a pet myself, but I know full well that if I did then I would have to treat it a damn sight better than the woman in this article.

To be honest, 39 year old mother of four Vicki Holland sounds like an absolute psychopath after 22 disturbing videos were found on her phone of her pretty much abusing her pet monkey Milly. These videos included ones of her feeding Milly kebabs and burgers, offering her cocaine, flushing her down the toilet and encouraging a dog to chase her. Why the hell would someone get such a kick out of treating an animal like that?

Thankfully, Holland has now been banned from ever owning any animal for the rest of her life after a hearing at Newport Magistrates Court. It turns out that her and her husband were major drug dealers in the area and the videos were discovered when her home was raided by the police in relation to these offences.

Holland and Russel Cox made over £40,000 from dealing and both were jailed for 30 months and 20 months respectively back in November 2020, but Holland’s hearing regarding animal cruelty only occurred last December. I would say it’s definitely a result that she’s been banned from owning animals for the rest of her life and the other part of good news is that Milly seems to have made a full recovery as well at Monkey World in Dorset.

Here’s what RSPCA inspector and exotics officer Sophie Daniels – who rescued Milly – had to say about her recovery:

Milly was struggling to settle at first and staff at the centre were worried about the effects the abuse had on her as she was terrified of people. She would hide at the back of the enclosure and make an alarm call whenever anyone walked past.

They slowly had to build up her confidence and provided her with a fellow marmoset mate called Moon who was rescued from the pet trade.

Moon was quick to respond to Milly’s alarm calls and would stand by her side to reassure her – which has helped her learn to trust again.

Now the pair are inseparable and love spending time in their large enclosure hunting insects and enjoying each other’s company.

This is why our Cancel Out Cruelty campaign is so important – so we can continue to help rescue desperate animals like Milly.

That’s a nice end to Milly’s story isn’t it? The fact remains that she shouldn’t have had to go through any of that to get to this point though.

If you’re reading this and know anyone that treats animals like Vicki Holland then immediately report them. It’s just not on.

For more of the same, check out this drug dealing monkey in a bullet proof vest that was killed during a cartel shootout. Absolute badass.
