Police Officer Who Slept With Six Of Her Colleagues Claims She Was Sexually Groomed

Remember that story about the female police officer who was getting gang banged by everyone else on the force and the whole world found out about it and they all ended up losing their jobs?

I’m pretty sure that everyone just assumed that Maegan Hall was just a major ho that loved the D, but now she’s come back and filed a lawsuit against the La Vergne Police Department claiming that she was sexually groomed by the other officers there. Here’s what civil rights attorney Wesley Hall (are they related?) had to say about it all:

There are going to be those who say they are consenting adults, and she is trying to place the blame elsewhere. It is easy to think that when you don’t know the whole story.

The officers colluded in using their authority to systematically disarm her resistance and entrap her in degrading and abusive sexual relationships – even sharing tips on the best ways to manipulate and exploit her.

When Sgt. Powell wanted sex, he refused to take ‘no’ for an answer. He continued demanding sex, saying things like ‘We’ll do it tomorrow,’ or ‘I’ve done so much for you, I’ve helped you,’ and ‘I’ve done so much for you in your personal life’.

The sexually coercive environment on the second shift at the La Vergne Police Department triggered increasingly severe symptoms of mental illness in Ms. Hall.

Ms. Hall is entitled to an award of punitive damages against defendants Powell, McGowan, and Davis in an amount to be determined by a jury for the acts committed with malice or reckless disregard described in this complaint.

Geez I really don’t know what to say about that. On the one hand it sounds like a fairly convincing description of the balances and abuses of power that might exist in an American police department, but on the other it just sounds like your typical American ambulance chasing buzzword kinda crap. Guess we’ll have to see how the trial plays out – if they make it that far.
