I’m pretty sure that every single one of us has lost our headphones or our AirPods at some point in our life so we all know how annoying that can be, but I’m not sure if I would spend £2300 and travel 4000 miles to get a pair back? Buying a new set just seems a lot cheaper?

Not so for former Apprentice contestant Lewis Ellis though, who decided that nothing was going to come between him and his stolen AirPods. The 31 year old accidentally left them on a flight from Bangkok and was told by airplane staff that they would be brought out to him, only to have them never materialise. Typical airplane staff hey?

Not one to call defeat on a task, Ellis used FindMyApp to track the AirPods and saw that they were jet setting all over the world before eventually finding a home in Doha. It was then that he decided to get on a plane and go and intercept them.

Check out the whole story in a fairly lengthy video below:

I don’t know who took them but my AirPods went on the holiday of a lifetime.

I watched as they flew from Qatar to Katmandu, before heading to a small village in the Himalayan mountains overlooking Nepal.

They then took a short jaunt to Thailand before finally coming to rest back in Doha. I just couldn’t stand it any longer – so I decided to track them down.

We tracked them down to a hotel but couldn’t get the exact room number.

So basically we knocked on loads of doors, went into loads of people’s apartments and I was getting shown around and we were getting closer and closer and we could see it clicking and clicking.

Apple Find My Works. Four thousand miles travel. When I say I’m elated I did not think in a million years it would work.

It’s probably the pettiest thing I’ve done in my entire life.

For the cost of flights, accommodation, car hire, I could have bought these AirPods four times over.

Yeah he’s right – it probably is really petty and expensive, but hopefully it was worth it in terms of internet notoriety and the amount of plays his video is going to get? The video is sadly only on about 4000 at the time of writing though, so maybe not? It is quite a funny story so props to the guy for that.

For more of the same, check out this TikToker’s five year petty revenge plan against her ex boyfriend. Gotta love that level of pettiness.
