A widow who claims to have spotted her late husband in a recently-shot promo video for a curry house says she’s in ‘no doubt’ the man in the video is her husband.

Spice Cottage, in Chichester, West Sussex, released the following clip on Facebook to promote their ‘new mood’ for 2023:

A woman named Lucy Watson, 59, then commented below:

Despite Spice Cottage’s reply stating the footage was filmed last week, Lucy is adamant that it is indeed her late husband Harry and son Alex in the clip, and has even suggested the curry house is lying about when they shot the footage. Lucy told MailOnline:

“The moment I saw the thing I thought ‘Oh my God – that’s Harry.’ It was so instant. I didn’t even have to think. He’d be eating a chicken korma because that’s all he ever ate.

Harry died in 2014 – there’s absolutely no doubt about that.

He was seriously ill in hospital for the last few months. They were going to do a liver transplant but he didn’t make it.

He was as skinny as anything before he died so the video must have been taken some months before that.

It annoyed me when they sent a message back saying it was filmed last week. It can’t have been. They are never busy like that any more, that’s the problem.

There was no doubt in my mind it was my husband. I couldn’t pause the thing so I had to replay it about 30 times and each time I was surer and surer.”

The only other explanation is that Lucy’s husband faked his death, and hasn’t managed to find a decent curry house that isn’t in his old neighbourhood? Either that or the curry’s so good that he’s come back to life for it. Could very well be – check out the rating on Google:

Spice Cottage has since commented again to categorically state that the footage is new and that they aren’t pulling the wool over Lucy’s eyes at all:

Well I’m not sure where that leaves things really. Can’t Lucy talk to her son, who she says is also in the video, and get him to confirm that it’s him and his old man eating curry together? Seems highly unlikely that there’d be a lookalike of her husband and her son eating together in the same curry restaurant years after her husband had died.

Hopefully there’s an update on this story sooner rather than later and we can get to the bottom of it, because Lucy must feel like she’s losing the plot by now. We’ll keep you posted.
