The Real Reason Lostprophets Paedophile Ian Watkins Was Stabbed In Prison

It’s pretty amazing that Lostprophets singer Ian Watkins has been in jail for 10 YEARS and only just now got shanked by his fellow inmates, especially in a place like Wakefield and especially given the sick crimes he was found guilty of.

Well, it finally happened on Saturday, with the 46-year-old being taken hostage by three other prisoners in his cell and being stabbed multiple times during a six-hour ordeal. He was taken to hospital in critical condition but police have since confirmed that his injuries are no longer life-threatening.

The weirdest part about all this is that The Mirror and other outlets claim Watkins was targeted over ‘guitar lessons’. A source told the publication of the incident:

“He was known to have hangers-on who asked him about music and being a rock star. He even gave some of them guitar lessons — which made other inmates in there angry so they wanted revenge.”

Which seems like an odd excuse to want to beat up a paedophile, although apparently there’s also been discontent over the fact Watkins has young fangirls visiting him in prison, which is making other inmates jealous. Again, you’d think this was less infuriating that knowing that the guy sexually abused children, but maybe we’re not as clued up on prison culture as we thought we were.

Watkin’s former girlfriend, Jo Mjadzelics, the woman who first came forward about his crimes (four years before the police decided to do anything about it, and only because they raided his house on a drug warrant), is also surprised the attack took so long:

“My only reaction is simply that I cannot believe it took them so long, particularly in Wakefield Prison.”

Given he’s only served a third of his 29-year sentence (and was already found with a phone in his butt), Watkins has a long way to go until he’s free and of course that means ample opportunity for inmates to attack him again. Maybe that’s why it took so long for them to launch their first attack? Lull him into a false sense of security and just when he’s relaxed enough to start giving people guitar lessons, bundle him into his cell and give him a dose of prison justice. It was always going to happen eventually…

P.S. Thoughts and prayer with Ian ‘H’ Watkins from Steps at this difficult time.
