A man with a ‘machete’ has been reported shouting ‘this is for Syria’ as he slashed a London commuter’s throat at a London tube station, witnesses claim.
The man was apparently stabbed in the ticket hall at Leytonstone station on Saturday evening. It is reported that police used a taser on the suspect as he threatened others with a knife, which some are reporting to have been a machete.
The victim – who is reported to be an “elderly” man with a younger female family member – is currently in serious condition after being rushed to hospital.
The video below, taken by a passerby, shows a large pool of blood on the floor of the tube station before police officers taser the man to the ground and restrain him.
