Even in 2024, 46-year-old Jeff Hardy is still doing mental sh1t like Swanton bombing off ladders and through tables, but it was opponent Sammy Guevara who accidentally knocked out the pro wrestling legend in their No DQ match for AEW Rampage this week.

Right at the end of the match, Sammy hit Jeff Hardy with a shooting star press from the top rope, but managed to knock him out and break his nose in the process:

As you can tell by that Tweeter’s caption, wrestling fans are not happy with Sammy Guevara, who apparently has a reputation for botching moves and injuring his fellow professionals.

Amazingly, Jeff Hardy managed to regain consciousness and finish the match but there’s not yet any update on his condition aside from that he was knocked out and had his nose broken. The match was actually taped this week ahead of being aired tonight, so it will be interesting to see how they have the incident play out on TV.

Doesn’t look like either Jeff Hardy or Matt Hardy were too happy with Sammy after the match ended:

Welp, I’m sure Sammy feels bad about it, especially as he grew up idolosing Jeff Hardy. Here’s a pic of them together from way back:

Maybe this is the universe’s way of telling Jeff Hardy that he should finally retire? There’s only so many times we can see him crash through a table or get handcuffed to a ladder by his ear expander. Ouch.
