Sadiq Khan Unveils New Buzzcut At SXSW London As He Backs Social Media Ban For Under-16s

Sadiq Khan debuted a freshly shaved buzzcut during his opening address at the SXSW London festival in London this week.

He was there to talk about the dangers of the ‘manosphere’ and the responsibility that social media companies have to keep under-16s safe on the internet, but what people were mostly captivated with was his new look shaved head…

Speaking at the festival in East London, Khan advocated for a full, Australia-style social media ban for under-16s. He argued that a ban is currently “the only way to stem the harms” until tech firms can prove their platforms are safe.

Khan stated tech companies should operate like food or pharmaceutical firms, proving product safety before public release.

He warned that online algorithms feed young boys a dangerous diet of “pound shop misogyny” peddled by “snake oil salesmen,” risking a lost generation.

As for the haircut, Khan revealed he was performing the Hajj pilgrimage – which is a once-in-a-lifetime obligation for Muslim men to “part with the ego”. Hopefully it’s not a temporary measure until his hair grows back? Although I’m sure he can’t wait until it does – doesn’t really have the head shape for a buzzcut, does he?
