Whilst 300sandwiches.com is great as a sandwich blog – there are some seriously awesome looking sandwiches in there, which only serves to reassert how much of a huge player this Eric guy is – it obviously really falls down on the fact that the girl isn’t making sandwiches for fun or to share them with the world, she’s making them because she sincerely believes if she does this then she’ll get a ring at the end of it. Ok, I get the part that sandwiches are awesome – who doesn’t love a good sandwich right? – but to base your whole relationship and the future of this relationship around sandwiches is ridiculous surely?

To be fair though, looking how good these sandwiches are, I think Eric would be an idiot to get rid of her if he did do that after the 300 are up. I mean if a girl’s willing to make me 300 completely sick sandwiches for him, I guess the least he could do is marry her in return? Eric is probably laughing because he was probably going to propose anyway – I’m pretty sure they had dated for a while and already lived together prior to this whole sandwich thing – but now he gets 300 sick sandwiches before he even has to think about it. It’s just a shame he makes his fiancee to be look completely whipped because of it.

If it was me though, I would probably have to up the sandwich quota before I agreed to have kids after I’d finally proposed to her though. It doesn’t seem like Eric’s going to be so lucky with that one as Stephanie has already taken that into account if this next quote is anything to go by. It also illustrates just how serious she is about this sandwich deal and that she’s probably a psychopath too:

300 Sandwiches 3

‘Ten sandwiches or so in, I did the math. Three sandwiches a week, times four weeks a month, times 12 months a year, meant I wouldn’t be done until I was deep into my 30s. How would I finish 300 sandwiches in time for us to get engaged, married and have babies before I exited my childbearing years?’

That’s some pretty serious math going on there right? I just can’t believe that there are girls out there who are willing to do this and go through with it and be so serious about it and who are then also willing to publicise it to the world like it’s an awesome achievement and a really good idea, especially in the current climate of the world that’s all pro-feminism and equal rights etc. It kinda seems like this woman is helping to shift the whole female empowerment movement back about one hundred years single handedly by embarking on this project and with her attitude towards it. Like I said at the start of this article, women really shouldn’t have to pass an ACTUAL test to get guys to propose to them surely?

For what it’s worth Eric seems to be taking the whole thing in his stride and isn’t worried about Stephanie’s crazy and potentially psychopathic behaviour – like I said he was probably planning on proposing to her at some point anyway but just thought he’d get 300 sick sandwiches out of it when he realised that she was actually dumb enough to do this for him as some kind of test. He offered this advice to other women who are looking to get their boyfriends to propose to them, which makes a lot more sense than getting his girlfriend to make him 300 sandwiches, but like I said if you were in that situation you would probably just run with it:

‘You women read all these magazines to get advice on how to keep a man, and it’s so easy. We’re not complex. Just do something nice for us. Like make a sandwich.’

At the time of writing, Stephanie has 123 more sandwiches to make before she gets that ring. Can’t wait to see how that unfolds.
