‘Trainspotting’ was one of the most iconic movies of the 1990s and everyone is getting truly pumped about the sequel finally being released 20 years later in a couple of weeks.

Whilst everyone is understandably excited about the movie though, people might be forgetting that the soundtrack to the original was also completely banging – it was so good in fact that it was actually voted the 17th best soundtrack of all time in Entertainment Weekly’s recent countdown. As Danny Boyle is at the helm again and he still retains an uncanny ability to put the perfect song in tandem with the scene he’s shooting, we can probably expect the soundtrack to ‘Trainspotting 2’ to be another corker.

The following screenshot is rumoured to be the track listing for the first disc of the soundtrack, although nothing has been confirmed yet:

I mean, that all seems perfectly reasonable for a soundtrack doesn’t it? Obviously Iggy Pop and Underworld were featured in the original’s classic soundtrack, Wolf Alice are in the trailer to the new movie and it makes sense that they’ll feature some classic songs like ‘Radio Ga Ga’ and ‘It’s Like That’ alongside some cuts from hip new bands like ‘Fat White Family’ and ‘Young Fathers’.

Seems like a perfectly constructed blag if it isn’t the actual listing, but I’d be willing to bet that it is. The only question now is what’s on disc 2?

If you’re still not completely hyped for ‘Trainspotting 2’ yet, then check out the trailer right here. You know it’s going to be good.
