We all miss the late, great Sean Lock’s comedic insights, but I don’t recall ever seeing this clip of him obliterating Russell Brand during an episode of 8 out of 10 Cats in 2014.

You would imagine he might’ve known something given he was on the same circuits as Brand, or maybe he just didn’t like the guy regardless:

‘Probably the reason I hate him so much is because I’m a dad, and I’ve got this fear that one day my daughters will bring something like that home.

And he’ll come in and go, “Ooh, such pleasure to be in your charming abode!”‘

Too funny. Gotta love the fatherly instincts kicking in there. Now I’m not saying that Sean Lock is some kind of moral arbiter because I’m sure he said some ‘offensive’ things in his time as a comedian, but he seemed a pretty astute guy and it looks like he had Brand sussed even way back then.

Not that this means Brand is guilty of anything he’s been accused of, but it’s just one of dozens of terrible character references from his peers over the years.
