If you haven’t already seen the bizarre DMs that ‘Rick & Morty’ co-creator Justin Roiland was sending to young fans of the show, we’ve included them below. But aside from being a 42-year-old creep who chats up teenagers on Twitter, Roiland is now also being accused of sexually assaulting girls that he convinced to meet him.

Here’s Roiland’s attempt at chatting up a 16-year-old girl on Twitter (in fairness, he was 35 at the time – not that it makes a difference):

Jeez, you’d think this was a 12-year-old boy trying to chat up a high school girl or something. WTF is wrong with this guy? There’s more, too – like responding to a fan telling him about her experience of sexual abuse by telling her he’s got kinks about that sort of thing:

Since then, there’s been tons of girls on Twitter releasing their DM exchanges with Roiland, which – while not illegal as these girls were above age (I think) – are pretty weird:

This week, there’s been a whole expose by NBC News who spoke to multiple women and nonbinary people who claim to have interacted with Roiland, including three who were under 16 at the time and claim the conversations turned sexual.

One woman, who remained anonymous, claimed that he messaged her on Tinder with a reference to Rick & Morty in 2019, when she was 20. She replied by asking if they could ‘go shopping and have fun’, while also suggesting a coffee and a chat and making him aware that she was under 21.

They reportedly met that night and went to a restaurant where he bought her ‘mixed drinks’ – she claimed that she had two beverages and felt drunk, after which they went shopping and back to his hotel room.

Roiland allegedly asked her to perform oral sex on him, which she initially refused and resisted – but he reportedly pushed her head towards his crotch. She told NBC:

‘From the moment it happened, I knew that it was not okay. But I felt a lot of different feelings, like that it was my fault. I felt guilty for asking him to buy me stuff. I felt maybe I owed it to him. And I was embarrassed.’

In May, 2016, Roiland reportedly messaged a 19-year-old when he was 36, and flew her out from Pennsylvania to his home in LA. The woman revealed that her dad voiced his concerns about Roiland’s intentions, to which he vowed that he would ‘make absolutely 100% sure nothing bad would happen’. In the end, she claims he talked her into a drunk threesome in a hot tub. The next morning, she says he ‘pressured’ her into letting him film her having sex with him.

Roiland has yet to speak publicly on this, but his lawyer has dismissed all the claims as ‘false’. Of course it’s always gutting when a beloved creator turns out to be a closet creep, and while everything is alleged at this point, it certainly doesn’t look good when you see the sort of messages he was sending to teenage girls online. Not to mention he’s already facing domestic abuse charges from 2020. It’s too bad because Rick & Morty is actually a pretty funny show.
