Very disturbing moment at the World Snooker Championship on BBC One the other night, as a grown man in the audience was caught in the background nibbling on a child’s ear, in a clip that has since gone ridiculously viral.

No one knows yet if this man is the child’s dad or what, but it’s extremely creepy all the same:

Very weird indeed. Even weirder that the kid seems completely unphased by his behaviour! Now obviously we need to be careful what we say here and can’t just straight up accuse this man of being a paedophile, but that seems to be the general sentiment on social media and clearly it’s concerned enough people that police are now involved and trying to track the man down.

South Yorkshire Police have confirmed they are investigating the incident after multiple reports were made to them:

“On Thursday 25 April at 9.20pm, we received a call to inform us of a video circulating on social media of a man and a boy at the Crucible in Sheffield. We are aware of the footage and officers will be reviewing the content.”

The World Snooker Tour also addressed the clip, with a spokesperson saying:

“We are aware of this incident and it is now a police matter.”

Let’s hope they manage to track this man down and get to the bottom of what’s going on. Until then I’m really just hoping that the child is either older than he looks or maybe an adult woman who happens to look like a 13-year-old boy. Which would be pretty weird in itself, but a whole lot better than what everyone is assuming at the moment. We’ll have an update for you soon as we know.
