Take a look in the mirror. See that scar on your left cheek? The one you got from shaving carelessly when you were 17? That’s just one part of what makes you you. What makes you different from yourself when you were 16, even. But what if you could have a picture of yourself age 18 without that scar, and without Photoshop?

Have you ever fancied a picture of yourself with A$AP Rocky, Jennifer Lawrence or even Stalin? How about a photo of you, all of One Direction, Hitler, Anne Frank, Quentin Tarantino and Genghis Khan all sharing tea on the Alps in 1603? It may be hard to get your head round, but all of this is possible – though it may take some time.

Taking approximately 46, 138, 562, 195, 008, 110, 600, 774, 753, 760, 087, 749, 172, 181, 189, 607, 929, 628, 058, 548, 517, 099, 604, 563, 033, 706, 075 years to complete, Every Possible Photograph, by digital artist Jeff Thompson, will slowly create every greyscale digital photograph imaginable, simply (I say simply) by running through every possible pixel combination in a 15 x 10 grid. To put the time this project will take to complete in some perspective, the Universe is only around 13,770,000,000 years old.
