OpenAI CEO Sam Altman’s Sister Has Filed A ‘Long-Term Sexual Abuse’ Lawsuit Against Him
Annie Altman, the sister of OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, has amended her civil lawsuit accusing him of long-term sexual abuse, after a judge initially tossed it out because so much time had passed since the alleged abuse took place.
She was able to refile the lawsuit under historical abuse laws, which means this case will now go ahead.
Here are the (sickening) details: Annie Altman is accusing her brother of sexually abusing and raping her at various times between 1997 and 2006 at the family home in suburban Clayton, Missouri. She said the abuse began when she was three and he was 12. Sam Altman is now 40.

A U.S. District Judge (Zachary Bluestone) initially dismissed the suit in March 2026, ruling that the standard sexual assault and battery claims were time-barred (expired in 2008). However, the judge allowed her to refile the lawsuit under Missouri’s Childhood Sexual Abuse statute, which provides an extended statute of limitations for historical abuse.
Naturally, Sam Altman has denied all allegations and claims his little sister is trying to extort him. He is also pursuing a countersuit for defamation regarding social media posts she made between 2021 and 2024, in which she referred to being molested by an “almost tech billionaire”.
Sam Altman, along with his mum and brothers, have issued statements saying the allegations are “utterly untrue” and that Annie suffers from severe mental health challenges.
I mean, in fairness, you would have ‘severe mental health challenges’ if your older brother had (allegedly) sexually abused for a decade. He was 12 and she was a toddler ffs. If true, it’s absolutely horrifying.

A lot of people already seem convinced that Sam Altman, who is gay and married to a dude, is guilty of this heinous crime. But I guess that’s just the nature of the internet. Not to mention how we’ve been conditioned to associate powerful billionaires with sexually assaulting children, though not necessarily their own siblings.
The wider Altman family seem to be calling Annie Altman crazy, but whether she actually is or they’re just protecting their golden boy is yet to be determined.
Obviously this all needs to be very carefully assessed to ensure the right outcome one way or another. The case is still in its very early stages after being amended, so expect it to drag on for some time.
