3. Markthal Rotterdam, Netherlands
Netherlands again — this time in Rotterdam where some architectural geniuses have constructed a giant Horseshoe-shaped arch containing 228 flats inside, but underneath — the world’s most buzzing covered market.
The Markthal is also home to a humongous 36,000 square foot mural by Arno Coenen and Iris Roskam called Cornucopia which covers the entire inner arch. You’ll want to stick around a while.
