We all handle our grief in different ways, but thus far I don’t think I’ve seen anyone mourn the Queen more selflessly than these Miss BumBum contestants from the UK, who have vowed to go on a ‘sex fast’ for a week (a whole week!) in order to honour the late monarch.

Andréa Sunshine, the model representing London, posted her declaration on Instagram to her 150,000 followers, saying that she will engage in “sexual abstinence” during the time of mourning…

Another model, Bianka Cabral, also agreed to the sex strike, informing her 594,000 followers that she will also abstain from shagging for a week as a sign of respect to the Queen…

And finally, their statements were echoed by Manchester model Mikaelly, who posted a similar sentiment:

It’s hard to imagine a more charitable and powerful gesture in paying tribute to the late, great Queen Elizabeth II. I mean just look at these three unbelievably brave women. You and I could probably go without sex for a week no problem, but when you’re dealing with three Miss BumBum contestants whose entire being revolves around being sexy? For them, going a week without sex is like the rest of us going for a month without food. We’d struggle to survive and so will these 3 brave women by abstaining from sex for 7 days. Did they have to do this? No. But they wanted to. I think that says a lot about their character and the respect they had for the Queen.

Will these ladies also abstain from posting pictures of their booties on Instagram for a week? Probably not. But I think even the Queen would think that was a little too much. After all, these women are suffering enough already in her name. But if this helps them heal from the wounds of the Queen’s passing, then so be it. Thank you, ladies.

For the doctor who says she can’t find work after competing in a Miss BumBum competition, click HERE. Very unfair.
