Millie Bobby Brown is one of the biggest young stars on the planet thanks to her roles in ‘Stranger Things’ and ‘Enola Holmes’, so of course that means it’s only a matter of time before she gets cancelled.

I’m not sure if this intimacy co-ordinator calling her out out on TikTok is enough for this to happen though. Jessica Steinrock went into a detailed explanation as to why Brown’s playful comments about surprising her co-star Louis Partridge by kissing him were actually deeply problematic:

@intimacycoordinator #stitch with @netflix consent is mandatory. We don’t need to surprise kiss, we don’t need to actually hit… #hollywood #enolaholmes #milliebobbybrown ♬ original sound – Intimacy Coordinator

I’m sure she and her scene partner have a lot of rapport built up and a great amount of trust. But we should never be surprising anyone during a fight or intimate scene, ever.

At the end of the day, this basically means she didn’t ask consent to kiss him. And when your scene partner reacts in surprise after you kiss them, that means the communication didn’t happen the way it really needs to.

Little things like this can escalate over time and frankly, she has more power in that situation than he does because she’s a really well-known star.

When we do spicy scenes, we love keeping it light and having fun but consent is mandatory.

I guess she does have somewhat of a point there doesn’t she? Although I suppose it’s very easy to say that Bobby Brown was just having a bit of fun and laugh it off, especially as we haven’t really heard any complaints from Partridge about it either. But then that’s the whole case against the woke movement in a nutshell really isn’t it and you could definitely argue that the existence of an intimacy co-ordinator is a direct result of that. It’s Christmas though so I can’t really be bothered to come down one way or the other. Make up your own mind.

What I was surprised about though was that the Intimacy Co-Ordinator has almost 600,000 fans on TikTok. Maybe people really do care about this stuff and it’s enough to get Millie Bobby Brown cancelled or at least ask some questions about her conduct? Stay tuned.
