Madonna is getting bantered into oblivion for turning up to the Grammys with a ridiculously Botox’d face, but some people refuse to feel bad for her given the brutal remarks she’s made about people’s appearances over the years.

Following the Grammys backlash, someone dug up an interview she did with The Washington Post in 1991 – over three decades ago! When discussing obsessive fans who hassle her in public, Madonna said the following:

Oof – ruthless stuff, but I guess you could get away with saying that sort of thing in 1991. No social media around for the social justice types to call her fatphobic and launch a cancellation campaign, not that it would’ve necessarily worked, given how massive Madonna was at the time.

Still, it’s interesting to see the cruel and negative views Madonna held about others and how it’s reflected in herself now. At 64 years old, her true, aged self is completely unacceptable to her and so she blasts herself with drugs and fillers and behaves like a lunatic on Instagram in order to ‘stay young’. I mean, nobody likes ageing, but it seems she really doesn’t like it.

In any case, Madonna did not hit legend status and accumulate a net worth of $850M in order to have bloggers like me tell her what she should and shouldn’t do. Let her live her best life, I say! Go Madonna Go!
