As reported by Variety, the 33-year-old is in ICU in a Chicago hospital after contracting the virus and while he is no longer on a ventilator, his condition is described as ‘critical’.

His agent told the publication:

J was just pulled off the ventilator.

He’s still in ICU in critical condition. Please keep him in your prayers.

Jeremih’s family told CNN in a statement that the virus has ‘viciously attacked’ his body and he is now battling complications. They stressed that his condition is ‘rare for a young man Jeremih’s age without any underlying conditions’, as the statement continued:

His family would like to remind the world that Covid-19 is real and not to be taken lightly.

Also, it’s important for people infected to quarantine and let their families and friends know ASPA. There’s no shame in contracting Covid-19 and people that have it need to be responsible and considerate of others.

Jeremih’s family said they were ‘very grateful’ for everyone’s prayers for Jeremih, as they asked fans to continue praying for him.

His buddy and ‘Down on Me’ collaborator 50 Cent also put out a post wishing Jeremih a speedy recovery:

I know the coronavirus death rate is something like 0.002% for 18-35 year olds, but still, this has to make you worry a little bit. If 10 million 18-35 year olds catch it, that’s 2,000 who will statistically die. That’s pretty horrible. And, at least at one point, it was looking like Jeremih might be one of them. In fact he’s clearly not out of the woods yet. And with no pre-existing conditions? Pretty terrifying.

Not particularly a fan of Jeremih’s but he definitely had a couple bangers – the aforementioned Birthday Sex and Down On Me – and he’s for sure a talented dude with a distinctive voice in the saturated R&B market. Let’s hope he pulls through because 33 years is no age to go, especially not to this wretched virus that has cocked up so much of 2020 already.

For the man who invented the ‘Breathe Well Tube’ for coronavirus protection and makes his girlfriend wear it as well, click HERE. Not sure about that one.
