There was a time in the late 90s/early 00s when every new M. Night Shyamalan movie was a major event, but that kinda calmed down a bit after everyone realised that his movies were really slowly paced, fairly boring and the twists at the end were really stupid. Probably around the time that ‘The Happening’ came out.

Anyway, Shyamalan has experienced somewhat of a career resurgence recently after ‘Glass’ brought together the protagonists from ‘Split’ and ‘Unbreakable’ and was fairly well received. ‘Old’ was kinda stupid but massively hyped, and now M. Night is back again with ‘Knock At The Cabin’ which looks like it could be a hoot as well.

Dave Bautista and Rupert Grint star in a movie about a family being taken hostage in a remote cabin and being forced to make a difficult choice to avert the apocalypse. Take a look at the trailer below:

While vacationing at a remote cabin, a young girl and her parents are taken hostage by four armed strangers who demand that the family make an unthinkable choice to avert the apocalypse. With limited access to the outside world, the family must decide what they believe before all is lost.

Seems pretty obvious what that choice is going to be doesn’t it? Movie looks like it could be really interesting, but I imagine like most M. Night Shyamalan movies it’ll cram loads of stuff into the last 15 minutes that doesn’t really make any sense and sort of ruins the whole movie under the guise of a ‘twist’ ending.

We’ll all probably still go and watch it though. And bitch about it afterward.

For more of the same, check out when people tried to cancel the M. Night Shyamalan movie ‘Split’. They probably have some sort of point there.
