The latest batch of episodes from Harry & Meghan’s Netflix documentary have arrived, and let’s just say they do nothing to change Harry’s new-found reputation as a bit of a wimp, as he describes feeling “terrified” as big bro William “screamed and shouted” at him during a meeting.

In the fifth episode of the series, Harry describes how dad Charles, the King, called a meeting in January 2020 to thrash out the terms of his and Meghan’s exit deal, after they’d made it clear they wanted to relocate to Canada. Harry claims the meeting was planned when Meghan was in Vancouver to ensure she was not “in the room”.

Recalling the meeting, Harry says he was given five options, ranging from all in to all out. He chose option three – half in half out – which would allow them to have their own jobs but also work on behalf of the Queen. However, it soon became clear that was not going to work out:

“It was terrifying to have my brother scream and shout at me and my father say things that weren’t true and my grandmother sit there quietly and take it all in. It was really hard.”

He then suggested that his brother took the family’s side because it is “his inheritance”:

“The saddest part of it was this wedge created between me and my brother so that he’s now on the institution side.

Part of that I get, I understand. That’s his inheritance so part of that is already ingrained in him – part of his responsibility is the survivability and continuation of this institution.”

Harry says he was later told about a joint statement to be released on behalf of him and William denying a newspaper story that the Sussexes had been pushed out and “constantly bullied” by William.

“I couldn’t believe it. No one had asked me permission to put my name to a statement like that.”

Within four hours they were happy to lie to protect my brother and yet for three years they were never willing to tell the truth to protect us.”

Doesn’t seem there’s much hope for a reconciliation in the future either:

“I’ve had to make peace with the fact that we’re probably never gonna get genuine accountability or a genuine apology. You know, my wife and I, we’re moving on. We’re focused on what’s coming next.”

Well, right after they’ve thrown their family under the bus for a reported $100M, not to mention what Harry will make from his upcoming book. Which I guess isn’t quite the same as claiming a Royal inheritance, but still cashing in on the privilege nonetheless. What I’m wondering is whether Harry was genuinely “terrified” by William shouting at him? I’d understand if he was 9 years old and his big brother was yelling at him for being a little sh*t, but as a 38-year-old man who served in the army? Come on. It just seems like he’s leaning into the victim role which I’m not sure is a great idea. Most people probably enjoy the idea of William giving Harry a royal bollocking for the way he’s gone about things. Never forget:
