Nothing really surprises me that much in this country, so I didn’t even bat an eyelid after footage of some gigantic balls rolling around central London and causing chaos went viral yesterday.

No, it doesn’t look as though it was some ‘Fight Club’ style protest against capitalism, but instead it seems as if the recent high winds in the capital caused a gigantic Christmas bauble style decoration to blow off from its fitting on a shop and bounce down Tottenham Court Road. The footage below was uploaded to TikTok and sees a driver swerve out of the way before a Deliveroo driver is forced to do the same, after which the ball smashes into a lamppost with the outer layer coming off and turning into a giant balloon like something out of that old 60s show ‘The Prisoner’.

It’s a pretty funny sequence, especially when some genius decided to upload it onto TikTok with Miley Cyrus’ ‘Wrecking Ball’ playing in the background:

Geez imagine walking around in the rain in the middle of London and then one of those blows right up in your face. Not something you want to be experiencing, but it doesn’t sound like anyone was hurt so ay least there’s that. Imagine that something even more ridiculous will probably happen tomorrow.

For more of the same, check out when this giant beach ball bounced around London about ten years ago. Guess it’s the kind of thing that happens once every decade.
