Somehow Conor McGregor V Floyd Mayweather was one of the biggest PPV matches of all time back in 2017, even though Conor was an MMA fighter with no real chance of winning a boxing match against the man that is for all intents and purposes the greatest boxer of all time.

However, that doesn’t mean that people haven’t been interested in them throwing it back again ever since Mayweather was declared the winner and it looks like their wishes will finally be granted after Floyd confirmed that it was definitely happening next year. Speaking ahead of his latest exhibition match against Mikuru Asakura in Japan, the undefeated champion said the following:

I want to go out there this weekend and have fun [against Asakura]. Then I have another exhibition Dubai in November and me and Conor McGregor in 2023.

We don’t know if it’s going to be an exhibition of a real fight. But there’s been talks of both. I would prefer an exhibition.

I am not into fights where I am going to take any real punishment.

So, guys like Conor McGregor and guys that don’t really hit hard such as YouTubers or UFC guys, I don’t really mind colliding with those kinds of individuals but nothing where I am going to put myself in a position where I am going to harm myself or hurt myself.

That doesn’t really sound like it’s going to be worth watching if it’s just an exhibition match does it? I suppose that’s pretty much what the first fight was and we all tuned into that so maybe it’ll be successful anyway?

I think Conor has won one UFC fight since then and I don’t think Floyd has fought competitively either so I guess there isn’t much point in making it competitive either because it quite simply won’t be. They’ll still make a pretty penny off it though obviously. Gotta respect the hustle I suppose.

For more of the same, check out when Floyd Mayweather threatened to knock out a guy in front of his wife. Bit much.
