A petite Brazilian woman is feeling a lot lighter this week after doctors removed an 100-pound tumour that she had been living with for five years. The 4-foot-9, 330lbs woman reported to the clinic suffering from shortness of breath, prompting them to discover the baby hippo-sized tumour in her stomach.

The pictures in the article are pretty f***ing disgusting – you have been warned:

I like how the doctor’s standing over it like he just caught an 100-pound salmon. He looks so proud – as he should be. Can’t be easy work removing a gargantuan tumour from a tiny Brazilian lady’s stomach. The article in the NY Post says that “the whole hospital mobilized to perform the procedure for the patient”, which must’ve been quite the event indeed.

No word on why the patient didn’t get her tumour checked out before it hit the 100-pound mark 5 years after it first started growing. Maybe she was just waiting for it to go away on its own? Either way, congrats to her and to the hospital too. Waking up 100-pounds lighter (and tumour free) must be a pretty awesome feeling.
