Once you’ve found out Super Mario Land on Gameboy is impossibly hard, you can just skip ahead to the 16-bit era.

Super Mario Advance 1, 2, 3 & 4 are ports of original games from the Super Mario series with a few added extras and a general facelift.

This series includes what is in my opinion, one of the best Super Mario games of all time: Super Mario World, originally from the Super Nintendo. Dinosaur stomping, pipe diving, shroom tripping fun. Check out this ancient ad:
