Ariana Grande Blasted For Telling People ‘Not To Go To Work’ In Protest Against ICE

Pop star Ariana Grande, who has a net worth of around $250 million, is suggesting people skip work, stay home, skip school and don’t do any shopping as a protest against ICE and the Trump administraion.

The Wicked star, 32, shared an “ICE OUT NATIONWIDE SHUTDOWN” post on her Instagram Story, calling for no work, no school, and no shopping on 30 January 2026.

Which is all well and good, unless you’re someone who needs your job and can’t be leaving your boss in the lurch just because you want to make a point about ICE for the day.

Model Amber Rose had a decent take on it:

Couldn’t have said it better really. Maybe the people who are already unemployed can stay home and protest instead? Rather than everyone else who still needs to get paid.

Who knows? Maybe if she’d suggested the “no shopping” approach only, that could have been something that people would get behind. Go to work, just don’t buy anything, or at least try to shift purchases away from large corporations. Maybe call on her followers to cancel their Netflix and Amazon accounts? Well, somehow I doubt she would have the balls to get that specific.

Indeed, going on strike is an economic privilege, but then you can forgive someone who’s been as rich and famous for as long as Ariana Grande has to not have thought that through. At least she’s trying to do something, I suppose. Fair play to her, but back to the drawing board on this one.
