RIP Catherine O’Hara – Home Alone & Schitt’s Creek Actress Dies Aged 71
Very sad news to report today as Catherine O’Hara – best known for her work in Home Alone, Schitt’s Creek and Best In Show – has passed away aged 71.
The legendary Canadian actress died on Friday with the cause of death currently unknown, but apparently it follows a ‘brief illness.’
O’Hara was a certified Hollywood legend, obviously most famous for playing Kevin McCallister’s mum Kate in Home Alone (1990) and its Lost in New York sequel (1992).

She also starred as Moira Rose in 80 episodes of Schitt’s Creek, which aired from 2015 to 2020 and saw her bag a Golden Globe and a Critics’ Choice Award.
She also won an Emmy for outstanding lead actress in a comedy series in 2020, saying in her speech: ‘I will forever be grateful to Eugene and Daniel Levy for the opportunity to play a woman of a certain age, my age, who gets to fully be herself.’
Most recently, she starred as Patty opposite Seth Rogen in The Studio, for which she also earned an Emmy nomination.

RIP to a true icon of the game. Watching Home Alone won’t be the same next Christmas, but at least she’ll live on forever because of it.
Meanwhile, here’s a look at what Marv has been up to. Yikes.
