RIP AARON ROBINSON

It’s a bit delayed but for all of our extreme sports lovers, one of our own has departed this week. Two time North Face Masters tour winner and K2 Pro team rider Aaron Robinson was declared dead after suffering head trauma while riding El Colorado, Chile on Tuesday.

A-Rob was shredding the back country area of El Colorado, Santa Teresita, when he bailed and hit his head on exposed rocks. The back country run is technically an out of bounds area but is a popular shred spot for those who like a little off piste action.

Aaron Robinson’s death was confirmed by the marketing manager of Valle Nevado, Chile, Arnau Fernandez.

Since the news of his death, memorials have been popping up all over the internet. ESPN_Snow twitter has been retweeting as they find them. Friend and photographer Jeff Hawe shared a photo set of some of Aaron Robinson’s best shots and buddy Sam Tuor filmed some behind the scenes action at the North Face Masters.

Aaron Robinson was 24 years old, rode his heart out for K2, Volcom and Airblaster and had some massive cojones for even attempting some of the stuff he did. I have no doubt he could have continued to tear up the mountain for many years to come. Now he’s off to shred those mountains in the sky.

R.I.P Aaron Robinson, 1986 -2011.
