Thousands of people turned up for the pro Palestine march in London (and other major cities in the UK) over the weekend, and for some reason a group of blokes with England flags bearing slogans like ‘THIS IS ENGLAND – NO SURRENDER’ decided to join in the proceedings, resulting in this unfortunate scene:

It’s another interesting layer/subplot to the Israel/Palestine situation; how the British ‘patriot’ types feel about the streets being overrun with ‘Free Palestine’ marches. Obviously Turning Point UK is trying to frame this as ‘Hamas Supporters Attack Local Londoners’, and while we can’t categorically say that these protesters are Hamas supporters, it’s too bad they decided to get physical with this group of lads who simply turned up to the event with their own flags. Though, in fairness, it’s possible they were being antagonistic towards the crowd too. Still, that shouldn’t warrant putting hands on each other’s property and letting fists fly.

Having got wind of this clip, Laurence Fox is now suggesting a ‘massive Patriotic assembly’ in London, which will no doubt be a completely calm and trouble-free affair:

A sea of union jacks to say that Britain is united.

People of all backgrounds, religions and races, who love Britain, and are British mums, dads, husbands, wives and children, before anything else.
