Most People Arrested During Henry Nowak Protests Had Been Reported For Domestic Abuse

Here’s a shocker – most of the patriot types arrested at the Henry Nowak protests in Southampton had previously been reported to police for domestic abuse.

Hampshire Police Data reveals 22 out of the 37 detained had been accused or convicted of intimate partner violence.

Just a coincidence, surely? Would never expect this from the “protect our are women and girls” brigade?

Well, probably not a coincidence at all as this actually follows a documented trend in recent UK riots. For instance, data from older 2024 unrest showed that two in five individuals arrested had prior domestic abuse reports on file.

Women’s safety advocates and organisations like Women’s Aid point out that public, street-level violence is heavily correlated with private, domestic violence. These lads who act out aggressively in riots often have a history of violent behaviour or control at home.

It’s almost like they don’t actually give a toss about Henry Nowak; they just want an excuse to raise hell, break things and beat up the police.

Which is too bad because obviously it’s great that people have been making noise about the Henry Nowak situation. The police need to understand how badly they screwed that one up (and I’m sure they do). But when you’ve got these idiots turning up at protests it can only serve to undermine whatever movement could be happening.

At the end of the day, it’s no surprise that violent people do violent things. People previously arrested for violence are more likely to be habitually violent. It just makes sense. All you need to do is give them a reason to feel “justified” in behaving that way.

Meanwhile, word is Henry Nowak’s killer has been ‘cowering’ in his cell as fellow inmates keep threatening him. Good to know.
