Craig Hope’s argument was that Bellingham is “divisive” and “petulant” and that his on-field attitude and ego would ruin squad harmony. He accused Bellingham of being a “soloist” – all about individual stardom rather than playing as part of a collective unit.
In reality, divisive Jude has united the whole country in awe of his performances and you’ve got tens of thousands of people, including his own teammates, singing “Hey Jude” at the end of every game.
Which begs the question: was Craig Hope’s “leave Jude at home” article the worst football take of all time? The internet seems to think so…
