UFC Fighter Josh Hokit Defends Michelle Obama Comment, Says He Meant It As A Compliment
UFC fighter Josh Hokit has finally addressed the backlash to his comments about Michelle Obama at UFC Freedom 250, where he knocked out Derrik Lewis and then took the mic and declared: “Michelle Obama is a man, am I right?”.
Turns out he meant it as a compliment…

"I thought I was giving her a compliment. I don't think anyone viewed it as Michelle Obama being a man. It's more like she knows how to deal with adversity, she knows how to… pic.twitter.com/N6RzeoWt2i
Hokit explains: “I thought I was giving her a compliment. I don’t think anyone viewed it as Michelle Obama being a man. It’s more like she knows how to deal with adversity, she knows how to work hard like a man when the times get tough.
“It was a perfect opportunity to show the world how great this country is with freedom of speech… In other parts of the world, you say something like that and you die.
“That’s one thing about my career… You’ll never hear me backtrack from what I say.”
Bit of a lame way to play it down really. He should just be a man and say he was excited and hyped up and said something stupid and apologise for it. I don’t think you have to be a “leftie libtard” to feel that it was a dumb and classless and unfunny thing to say, especially at an event taking place at the White House.
Even king of free speech Dana White thought it was stupid:

“Disgusting. Because I Believe in Free Speech, You guys have to listen to f*cking stupid sh*t like that sometimes” 😭 pic.twitter.com/RIq75myZ0T
Well at the end of the day, it’s completely on-brand for Hokit so on that level I suppose apologising would be something of an aura-loss. Wonder what he’ll come up with next time he’s on the mic…
