Woman Sent Flying After Being Violently Kicked By A Horse During Live TV Broadcast Of Redcar Racecourse

Everyone knows that you never approach a horse on its blindside, especially not when the horse is wearing blinders and especially not in 30+ degree heat.

Unfortunately, this stable worker had a momentary brain fart and was brutally kicked to the ground by horse Kameko Fever ahead of a seven-furlong race at Redcar in North Yorkshire this week:

Oof, that had to hurt. The good news is that Chloe Briody, 25, only suffered bruising and is already back home recovering after a brief stint in hospital.

Redcar Racing wrote in a statement: Thank you to everyone who has expressed concern following yesterday’s unfortunate accident in the parade ring at Redcar when a member of Richard Fahey’s stable staff was kicked by a horse.

‘The staff member was attended to swiftly by expert medical staff at the scene, with further checks being carried out at hospital later.

‘Having spoken to the stable this morning, we are happy to confirm that the member of staff is fine apart from some bruising.

‘She will be back on her feet soon and we wish her well.’

Richard Fahey also confirmed that Briody is recovering well: ‘It was one of my girls, Chloe, and she is fine. She went to hospital in an ambulance, they took an x-ray and everything is fine.’

Kameko Fever went on to finish 11th out of 13 despite running as a 9/2 co-second favorite; nearly 10 lengths behind the 16/1 winner, Rousham. Very disappointing. Although maybe the incident with Chloe was in his head.
