Teenager Who Filmed Friend Chucking Sofa Off Top Floor Balcony In Westfield Avoids Jail
You may remember the viral footage last year of a teenager lobbing a 15kg sofa off the top floor of Westfield Shopping Centre in Stratford, east London, which narrowly missed shoppers below and could have easily resulted in serious injury or worse.
Here’s the clip in case you missed it:

The thrower, a 16-year-old boy, was jailed last September for 8 months, but actually just spent four months in a secure youth facility before being released into community supervision in January this year.
The cameraman, a 15-year-old boy, was sentenced this week as his case took much longer because he changed his plea from not guilty to guilty.
In court, his defence argued that he was peer-pressured, and he managed to avoid a jail sentence and must instead attend victim awareness sessions, complete 13 hours of community service and abide by a three-month doorstep curfew.
Which I guess is fair enough. After all, he was just filming his older friend commit the physical act, so shouldn’t really be punished as harshly as his buddy was.

Still, even at 15, you should have the good sense to recognise how unbelievably stupid and dangerous that was, and maybe advise against it instead of whipping your phone out.
Not only that, he also uploaded it onto TikTok with the caption: “No way bro almost killed someone” followed by laughing emojis.
Like he says, though; he was peer-pressured! Here’s hoping these boys behave themselves from now on.
