ASOS Founder’s Ex-Wife Says ‘I Had Nothing To Do With His Death’ Following Fatal Fall
In case you hadn’t heard – the co-founder of British online retail giant ASOS fell to his death from a balcony in Pattaya, Thailand, earlier this month, and authorities have not yet ruled out the possibility of foul play.
This is partly because, at the time of his death, multi-millionaire Quentin Griffiths was embroiled in an ongoing legal dispute with his Thai ex-wife, Ploy Kringsinthanakun.

The exes were caught up in court proceedings in which she had accused him of forging documents to sell land and shares without her consent, while he alleged she had misappropriated approximately £500,000 from a company they operated together.
There was also the matter of a lengthy custody battle between them over their two children.
So when Griffiths fell from the 18th-floor balcony of his condo, some people suggested that Ploy may have had something to do with it. Well, not so – according to the lady herself.
Ploy told The Sun: ‘I had absolutely nothing to do with his death. How could I kill him? How would I know anything about it? I live in Bangkok — I wasn’t in Pattaya.
‘We have not been in contact for four years and eight months, since we separated when I discovered he was unfaithful and had another woman.

‘We have also been involved in ongoing legal proceedings, and the case is still before the court.
‘I fought with him so much in the past, but I moved on and just wanted to be treated fairly.
‘I find it very suspicious that there has been no news in Thailand about his death. It makes me question whether someone influential is suppressing the story.’
Case closed? It’s not far off, apparently. While investigators have yet to rule out foul play, they have checked CCTV from inside the complex and are satisfied that Griffiths was the only person in the apartment when he died.
However, there are hundreds of footprints in the dust on the floor of his balcony, so it’s unclear what they’ve made of that at this stage. No suicide note was found in the apartment.

Griffiths, who drove a £200,000 McLaren 570S, was wearing blue shorts and a white t-shirt when he fell to his death, but apparently no shoes.
ASOS put out a statement: ‘We’re saddened to hear about the passing of Quentin, one of our original co-founders.
‘He played an important role in Asos’s earliest days, and we’re forever grateful for his contribution.
‘Our thoughts are with his family and friends.’
