Trump Slams Bad Bunny’s ‘Terrible Super Bowl Halftime Show’
Trump has gone into meltdown on Truth Social over Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl halftime show last night, calling it “absolutely terrible”, “one of the worst, EVER”, and “affront to the Greatness of America.”
He also complained that “nobody understands a word this guy is saying” in reference to the rapper performing entirely in Spanish:
‘The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER! It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence. Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World.
‘This “Show” is just a “slap in the face” to our Country, which is setting new standards and records every single day — including the Best Stock Market and 401(k)s in History! There is nothing inspirational about this mess of a Halftime Show and watch, it will get great reviews from the Fake News Media, because they haven’t got a clue of what is going on in the REAL WORLD — And, by the way, the NFL should immediately replace its ridiculous new Kickoff Rule. I mean, fair enough if you don’t like Bad Bunny, but this seems like a strange overreaction on the President’s part. Call me crazy but it feels like Trump’s real issue is more to do with Bad Bunny’s anti-ICE comments in recent weeks.
Bad Bunny is Puerto Rican and therefore a US citizen, but we can’t expect MAGA types to accept someone who criticises the country’s deportation policies and especially not if their first language is Spanish, can we?
Trump hosted a private watch party at Mar-a-Lago, an alternative “All-American Halftime Show” hosted by Turning Point USA which featured Kid Rock and aired simultaneously. Sounds awful, right? It managed between 4 and 6 million peak viewers.
Meanwhile, Bad Bunny’s performance brought in between 127 million and over 142 million. If a figure of 142.3 million is confirmed, it would break the all-time record set by Kendrick Lamar (133.5 million) in 2025.
