Anthony Joshua’s Driver Charged After Car Crash That Killed Boxer’s Two Friends
The driver who crashed the car that injured Anthony Joshua and killed two of his friends and team members is headed to Nigerian jail after being charged by police.
Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, 46, was not just driving dangerously when he crashed the Lexus SUV into a stationary truck on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway in Makun, Nigeria; it turns out he was also driving without a valid license.
In total, Kayode has been charged with four counts:
- Causing death by dangerous driving
- Reckless & negligent driving
- Driving without due care
- Driving without a valid licence

Anthony Joshua, who escaped death by being sat behind Kayode, was deemed clinically fit to fly back to the UK and recuperate at home earlier this week, but his two friends, Latif ‘Latz’ Ayodele and Sina Ghami, were killed in the accident.
Kayode was granted bail at 5,000,000 Naira (£2,578) and was remanded pending his bail conditions being met.
Absolute p1sstake that a big time superstar like Anthony Joshua was being driven around by a guy who didn’t even have a valid license. There’s no way this guy was a licensed chaffeur, surely? Where did they even find him?
From the looks of the car after the collision – this idiot was obviously going at a very high speed:

The case has been adjourned until 20 January. No doubt justice will be served.
Police are also still hunting the driver of the stationary truck that the Lexus crashed into. Were they not supposed to be parked there, or what?
