6) Cristiano Júnior — 2004
Júnior was a Brazilian born player for Dempo Sports Club in Goa, India. In the 78th minute of the Federation Cup finals, whilst scoring his second goal of the match against Mohun Bagan it all went massively and irreversibly wrong. Júnior collided with the opposition’s goalkeeper Subrata Pal. Hard.
Júnior staggered away from the collision then collapsed and never got up. He was dead by the time he arrived at the hospital.
His death was due to a heart attack brought on by the collision.
