4) Chesslo Junior (Crystal Culture)

Another Crystal Culture winner Chesslo Junior describes himself as a ‘purveyor of low-tempo inter-stellar vibrations’. In my humble opinion he’s worth a listen based purely on that description. And when you slip on the Timbaland remix below you’ll be feeling that description right in your happy lobes and loins.

This 22-year-old spent his formative years in Oxford, a place not renowned for its “edge”. Right now I’m sure there’s a lot of Oxford folk foaming at the mouth desperate to tell me how “street” it is nowadays. But it’s never gonna be Mosside, and for that you should rejoice.

Chesslo has had releases on Crystal Culture in the past and recently released a new EP called Long Hum on Kelpe’s Drut Records.
