All round nutter Charles Bronson has put together a collection of art and documents that catalogue his good deeds, including that weird drawing and get well soon card he sent to the Alton Towers rollercoaster victim.

The collection has been created by the 62-year-old in a bid to bring an end to periods of solitary confinement, which have been frequent over the last 40 years. Maybe if he didn’t do mental shit then there would be no need for the stints in solitary. But you know, that’s what makes him special I guess.

Among the pink files, one of which is called ‘What a Wonderful World – A Bronson Tale’, are four certificates awarded for completion of violence reduction courses, newspaper reports looking at his various charity work and a copy of his speech which will be delivered to the parole board committee in April. There will also be a collection of his artwork, which he often sends to sick children. What a sweetheart.

Bronson’s ex-fiancée, Lorraine Etherington, who is helping with the parole bid and is also founder of the Charles Salvador Art Foundation, said:

Charlie is feeling really positive about the impending hearing and although he realises he will not be recommended for release, or even open conditions, he is just grateful to be able to present his case to the board and show them the work he has been doing over the last few years.

Charlie has been actively engaged with psychology and on the Violence Reduction Programme for some three years now.

That’s no mean feat. Charlie is a changed man and he deserves a chance.

Charlie wants a chance to progress, to move, to get out of solitary confinement. He isn’t expecting to be freed. Or even moved to open conditions – just a move from the cages of the Close Supervision Centre would be a start. And he deserves it.

Ah well, that’s nice he’s got Lorraine to back him up and it seems like his creepy drawings are made with the best intentions in mind. We wish you all the luck Charles. And whatever you do, try not to cover yourself in Lurpak and attack prison guards when Arsenal win the FA cup. It might weaken your case a little bit.
