‘EastEnders’ has been around for time, and one character who has been lingering for as long as Dot Cotton’s fag stench is Phil Mitchell. This red-faced grunt of a man has become the butt of jokes for decades and now, and with the help of Douggy Pledger and his Facebook page, ‘Utter Philth’, Phil’s husky voice and weird one-liners have been beautifully incorporated in a series of memes and video mash-ups.

So far Pledger has created hundreds of Phil-Mitchell based collages, kaleidoscope images, GIFS and even genuine pieces of artwork. But our favourite have to be the mash-up videos, which is why we’ve put together the five that we think best represent the EastEnder who never left. Philthy:
