At this stage of his life, participating in a pro wrestling deathmatch might literally be the death of Mick Foley. Nonetheless, the WWE Hall of Famer has announced that he’s planning one last go at the hardcore match type for his 60th birthday, so that he can really go out with a bang! bang! (if you know you know).

Foley revealed his plan on his podcast ‘Foley Is Pod’, and says training for the match would encourage him to lose 100lbs by the time his 60th rolls around (he’s 58 now):

Obviously Mick Foley has nothing to prove as far as being a sick masochistic b@stard goes, but watching him obliterate himself in one final deathmatch would still be must-watch TV. The question is – for what promotion and Vs whom? We already know modern-day WWE aren’t going anywhere near a gory, blood-splattered deathwatch, but maybe AEW or one of the Japanese promotions will be up for it. It’s too bad Terry Funk isn’t around because a Cactus Jack Vs Chainsaw Charlie deathmatch would have been the perfect end to both their careers (and potentially lives). I guess someone like Jon Moxley will have to do?

Understandably, a lot of people are worried that one last deathmatch will literally kill Mick Foley, but if it gets him to lose 100lbs like he’s saying, it may actually be a net positive for his health. I suppose losing the weight and NOT doing the match is out of the question?
